Coastal
While on Christmas break in Sydney, we took a little drive around the north coast as I'd never seen those areas before. Now I can understand why they're such popular areas to live! It must be lovely to live so near the beach.
Christmas Eve'ning
I've got quite a few photos from my Christmas break to catch up on... I've been having a lot of fun learning about my new camera; hopefully you will notice my photography improving during 2012! One aspect of the 5D that I'm particularly excited about is the lack of noise in low-light conditions - as you can see, I had a lot of fun capturing the crazy lights in enthusiastic neighbours' gardens on Christmas Eve. Twinkle twinkle twinkle...
Broga!
My friend has started running "Broga" classes - it's yoga for dudes, because we all know they need a bit of special help in the stretchy department. She's enlisted me to help with the occasional spot of photography and as I need a LOT of practice, of course I jumped on board.
Check out BROGA (you don't actually have to be a dude, but their special needs are taken into consideration ;-) ): http://brogamelbourne.blogspot.com/Evening Fires

Crawl Space
One of Marble's favourite pastimes is to "hide" in the cupboard. I use the quotation marks because... well... she isn't really very stealthy about it, is she?
An oppin' and a shoppin'
I got back from my Christmas break in Sydney with an overwhelming urge to go on an op-shopping expedition. This was mainly caused by overdosing on DIY fashion blogs and my intention was to find some useful pieces that could be improved with some DIY. Whilst I did come home with some goodies, I'm not sure that my goal was achieved as I actually like these pieces so much the way they are, I'd rather not risk ruining them with my poor DIY skills! I was thinking that the plain black top would be a great candidate for some bronze coloured studs, but as it's such a nice light silk I think it would be a shame to mar the fabric and so my thoughts are now turning to creating some jewellery to achieve the effect I'm after instead - perhaps a studded brooch? That way I can retain the versatility of a plain piece but still mix it up a bit. Same with the denim jacket: I had visions of finding one that fit well but was a bit boring so I could try some embellishments. What I found instead was this Bettina Liano jacket for $15... I figure it's better off without me hacking away at it. Also, how awesome is this crocodile skin belt? Classy bling!
Christmas is over for another year - Part 2
We three kings of Orient are
Bearing gifts we traverse afar
Field and fountain, moor and mountain
Following yonder star

It was so rewarding seeing the little children enjoy the nativity scene and sit down to watch the accompanying video - they were even reading along with the story which was fantastic.
Christmas is over for another year - Part 1
...aaaaaand so the calendar flicks over once again. My goodness, it's already a week into January! I've made a New Year's resolutions to get enthusiastic about blogging again; I noticed that despite the lack of posts there have still been a couple of visitors lately - although as they seem to have been searching for buttless tights I'm afraid they went away quite disappointed. I hope everyone had a lovely festive season, however you choose to either celebrate it or not. I and Mister Marbeau spent Christmas quietly with family and New Year's quietly with friends, which is just how we like it. Some of my illustrations have been out in the wild, which has been very exciting for me, as it's the first time really. If anyone reading out there is from Melbourne, you may have seen the new Christmas decorations adding to the festivity of the city - these were created by the design studio where I work. I was lucky enough to be able to work on some illustrations for the light pillars at Docklands, and also the nativity scene at the City Square. I went for a bit of a retro style a la Shag for the Docklands illustrations - pics of the nativity scene to come in part 2...
Placed objects - Cutesy gypsy
More placed objects... to me, this collection looks like an eccentric but cute, gypsy-inspired ensemble.
The owl button was a gift from a friend, the red beads are a treat to myself from Venice and the vintage pendant was my grandmother's.It's been a while...
OK so this blog has been dying a slow death. But I'm hoping to revive it in the new year, especially now because I've acquired a new camera that hopefully I will be taking lovely photos with very soon. Of course the first victim ahem... subject was my furry little kitty.
